You can add on a hike to tunnel slot canyon while you’re here. Above the small dryfall is a large pothole and the canyon opens. The monsoon season (in late summer) brings violent but brief thunderstorms, which often cause flash floods.
The water can be waist deep or deeper depending on the time of the year. Spring and fall are nice, but summer can get into the 100°’s. Remember to always check the weather before entering a slot canyon.

During our utah adventure, hiking the slot canyons was one of our family’s favorite ways to explore. While the hike is only 3.5 miles with minimal elevation gain, the rock scrambling and tight squeezes required to navigate the canyon certainly make it challenging! Always carry more than enough water.
Watch for moqui marbles along the way. To enter the canyon be prepared to wade through cold murky water.
